Rumour has it that there are some students out there that like to fish. What a great activity to be doing right now in this amazing weather. Doing activities that you love gives us something to look forward too and can help make us feel happy. Trying something new can also give us a feeling of excitement and accomplishment so why not get out there and try it. In the meantime here is a picture for some inspiration.

Hello everyone we are at midweek I know some of the teachers have been doing the teams video chats I hope that they are going well. It is important to stay connected to your class! I found a resource yesterday that can help families access the internet if they do not have it. Here is the criteria and I will provide the link below.
The Government of Canada’s Connecting Families initiative, in partnership with Internet service providers (ISPs), helps eligible low-income Canadian families get home Internet services for $10 per month. Participating Internet Service Providers will offer eligible families Internet services with at least 10 Mbps download speed (or the fastest available if less than 10 Mbps) and a minimum of 100 GB of data usage.

Good Morning what a beautiful day!! If you get a chance make sure to get outside today the sun is shining and there is finally no wind! I'm not sure how many of you listen to podcasts but I found a list of 25 podcasts for kids in Elementary, Middle Years and High School that you might want to check out. I like listening to Podcasts because you can listen to them while you are doing other things. The geese are back in full swing so I thought I would share a picture of this crazy goose who looks like he is trying to skate on the frozen creek. Mrs. Clarke has this awesome video for you to check out, she is singing in her beautiful voice a silly story for you to brighten your day!

Well mother nature is sure giving us a run for our money!!! When I went out for a walk this morning I almost froze. I want to wish everyone that celebrates Easter and those that do not to have a wonderful weekend. Try to get outdoors and enjoy some time reflecting on some of things that you can be grateful for even if that is hard to do right now! I'm grateful for this goofy guy who follows me around everywhere I go. Check out the resource page I have added a link to Mr. Charrier's youtube videos. He provides some fun ways to get active at home.

It is going to be another beautiful day today! What are some things that make you happy? An activity I suggest you to try is writing down 3 good things that happen to you each day and why they make you happy. It does not have to be anything big. For example one of things that I would write down would be I am happy that it is sunny because I get to go outside. It can be so simple! Doing these small things can make us feel better and it is something you can control. Have a great day! I found a great resource for you to look at about ways that Teens can be kind.

I hope everyone had a good spring break, even if we had to stay home. Now that the weather is getting nicer, if you are able get outside and get some vitamin D it can help improve your mood and just make you feel all around better. Another activity that can make you feel better is gratitude. Consider writing a letter to someone you really appreciate not only will you feel good about it so will they!

Friday March 27- Tip of the Day!
This morning when I was doing my five minutes of mindfulness I thought about what I was going to focus on. I decided that my thoughts would be "I will focus on what I can control" there is so much going on right now that we cannot control so instead of worrying about things that you cannot change focus on things that you have control of. Things like your own thoughts and actions. Try to get outside in your yard or outside on your deck today and breathe in some of that fresh spring air! Check the new page I added called Activities there are some art activities, movement activities and how to have an online Netflix Party
Thursday March 26
We are almost through the week. We've got this! Project 11 is offering 21 days of mindfulness, you can find the link to access the videos on my resource page. Mindfulness can be helpful to settle all the thoughts that might be going thru your mind and give you a sense of peace during stressful times. It can be a simple as spending 5 minutes in silence helping to start your day calm and focused.
Wednesday March 25
Is the news getting you down? Try your best not to get caught up in all the information that you see. Stick to accurate website's such as canada.ca Try and get off your device and do other things throughout the day that help create a positive mindset. With the weather warming up get out for a walk if you have that option or sit outside in your yard and soak up some sun.
Tuesday March 24
Do your best to get outside today. One of the best things we can do for ourselves during times of stress is to get at least 30 minutes of exercise. That can be activities such as a walk, bike ride or yoga.
It can also be helpful to journal, get all those thoughts out of your head and down on paper or in the notes on your phone.
